Welcome to spaldingtri.co.uk

Welcome to the website of Spalding Triathlon Club. We are a club of in excess of 50 members, ranging in age-groups from under 20, to deep into the veterans; and in competivity from chasing World Championship places, to just keeping fit and having fun. Most of our members are triathletes, although some choose only to participate in one or two of the disciplines. As a group we actively welcome both newcomers and seasoned athletes by encouraging them to attend our group training sessions, as well as offering advice on all aspects of the sport. Spalding Tri Club is affiliated to Triathlon England, England Athletics and Cycling Time Trials.  So browse the website to get a flavour of the club and feel free to contact us.

Spalding Triathlon Club is accreditted by the British Triathlon STAR Mark Scheme and recognised as a quality triathlon club

Mike Barnsdale

Spalding Tri Club is mourning the sad loss of their longstanding member Mike Barnsdale.  Mike sadly passed away on the 5th August 2011.  Mike was an active member of the committee and lived for all things sport.  In 2010, Mike was awarded 1st place in the Great British Duathlon Age Group rankings and had proudly represented Great Britain on a number of occasions at the World and European Duathlon Championships.

Amongst Mike's many achievements, Mike was one of the members of the 17 man team that cycled from Spalding to Paris in May 2011.

Mike was also a grass roots coach, many of the members of clubs that Mike has been involved in, have benefitted from his wealth of experience.

Mike will be sorely missed by us all and our thoughts go out to his friends and family.
