Training Diary
Swimming
Saturday afternoon swimming. Our qualified coaches will be leading the sessions. It is at 3.30pm in the Castle Pool. Club members with pool membership £1, Club members without pool membership £2.50, Non Club member £3.50. Contact Martin for more details.
A new addition to the swim training is a novice session at 2.30pm on Saturday at the Castle Pool, this will be a coach led session, working on skills and confidence. This is an open session, where all abilities are welcome. Coaches work in small groups to ensure that all needs are met. Contact Wayne for more information.
Open water swimming has finished for the cooler months, it will recommence when conditions allow.
Cycling
The cycle session usually leaves the Castle Sports at 8.20. Distances and speeds vary, but normally are around the 50mile mark, with a 17-18 + mph average. Members often start off with this run, and peel off to finish at their own speed/distance.
On the first Sunday of every month, there is an away day ride. All approx 1 hour drive from Spalding and will be approx 50 miles in length. Contact the Alistair for details.
A new addition to the cycle training is a medium distance/speed ride. Contact Martin for details.
As the time trial season has now finished, there will be night time rides on a Tuesday evening, starting at 6.30pm at the Castle Sports Complex. Lights are essential and the ride will last approximately 1 hour at a good pace. Contact Chris for details.
Turbo sessions for the cooler months have recommenced, they are held at 7pm in the Castle Sports Complex hall, £1 per play. Contact club for more details.
Spalding Tri Club members take part in Spalding CC Time Trials, the season has now finished, but will recommence in the Spring, click here for details.
Running
The club has an organised run session every Thursday, leaving Andy McPartlin’s house ( 34, Willesby Road, Spalding, PE11 2AX ) at 6.30pm. Distances and speeds vary, but the group tends to be big enough for people to run with others at suitable distances and pace. Contact Andy for details.
There is a club speed session organised for the winter months, club members meet at 8pm in the Castle Swimming Pool Car Park on a Monday. Contact Chris for details.
On the 2nd Wednesday at the month, there is a track session at the Princess Royal Arena, Boston, this is coached by Jack, this is a 1 hour session, starting at 7.15pm. Anyone wishing to attend should print off and complete this form and bring it with you. £4 per session. Contact Jack for more details.
There is also a track training session on a Saturday morning from 8.30am at the Castle Sports Complex, Spalding, this is a non coached session, but an interval set will be designed. Contact Tom for more details.
Core Strenghtening and Stabilty
Core class will recommence in the Spring.
Yoga
The clubs very own Yoga instructor Claire Thomas, runs Yoga classes on a Thursday evening, the perfect opportunity to stretch out. In addition, in the winter months, Claire organises a specific Yoga for Cyclists class, the class works to improve flexibility, in turn, preventing injury and improving ability.
